From the vineyard site Satz, which should really be reserved for Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch but we have 40 year old Grüner Veltliner vines there (and that’s a good thing!). The soil brings out powerful exotic fruit aromas. A wine bursting with futuristic elegance and concentration!
An excellent vineyard site in Deutschkreutz. This high-elevation vineyard site fosters ripening. Constant winds from Sopron enable the grapes and leaves to dry quickly. Brilliant site for red wines but also quite an interesting option for Grüner Veltliner.
Predominantly from the vineyard site Kart. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast in 2000 litre stainless steel tanks. Manual punch down (pigeage) and pump over (remontage). Malolactic fermentation and fine lees contact (sur lie) with frequent stirring (bâtonnage). 4 months ageing in steel tanks and partly in small oak casks. High extract and powerful. I didn’t want to produce a simple, easy drinking wine but rather a wine to get you hooked. You might as well start as you mean to go on.
A blend from the vineyard sites Kart, Hochberg and Goldberg that reflects the lifestyle of this unique red wine region wonderfully. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast in 2000 litre stainless steel tanks. Manual punch down (pigeage) and pump over (remontage). Malolactic fermentation in steel tanks and partly in small oak casks. Ageing on fine lees (sur lie) with frequent stirring (bâtonnage). Maturation in stainless steel tanks and used oak.
A flat vineyard site with low limestone content, sandy loam soil and high gravelcontent that produces fully ripe and fruity wines. The grapes develop high sugar levels due to the vineyard’s slightly south-facing location. This guarantees fully ripe grapes almost every year. This site is ideal for Zweigelt as it flourishes on red gravel to produce particularly elegant wines.
Pure Welschriesling from a small vineyard in the Steinriegel site. As the name suggests, stones are responsible for creating a mineral fruity wine with an extraordinary texture. Clear vinification, clear style: spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, long yeast contact, late bottling. A no frills wine!
This vineyard, with its west-facing slope and gravel soil, is perfect for Welschriesling and Grüner Veltliner. The result – mineral wines. The large flint stones that can be found near the surface (0-25cm) don’t make it easy for the vines to grow.
Pure Blaufränkisch, the first single vineyard wine in our assortment. From a very special vineyard. Pure Blaufränkisch. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast in 2000 litre stainless steel tanks. Manual punch down (pigeage) and pump over (remontage). Malolactic fermentation in small oak casks. Between 2 and 4 months ageing on fine lees (sur lie) with frequent stirring (bâtonnage). Maturation in 500 litre oak casks. Rich in mineral finesse.
The steepest vineyard of our vineyard sites with probably the most interesting soil structure. High limestone content and sandy loam loess soils which yield elegant, mineral wines – particularly suited to Blaufränkisch. The steepness of the vineyard enables cool air to drain thus creating incredibly fruity wines. The sandy soil with high limestone content creates fruity, animating and complex wines.
Pure Blaufränkisch. Even the name suggests that something great has to come from this vineyard. Pure Blaufränkisch at its most powerful and most concentrated. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast in open oak casks, long maturation on the skins, manual punch down (pigeage). Malolactic fermentation and long ageing on fine lees (sur lie) with frequent stirring (bâtonnage). Maturation in 80% new oak casks made of French oak. Bottling without filtration.
This top vineyard site in Deutschkreutz is ideal for Blaufränkisch. High limestone content and heavy loam soil produce profound wines with plenty of elegance. A vineyard with a history that has already produced a number of great wines.
Aged in used oak casks – this blend is a perfect example of a red wine from Burgenland. Indigenous varieties such as Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt are the main focus in this extremely balanced and smooth wine. Its silky smooth texture represents the style of our winery
“The mission” is to produce a top Cabernet Sauvignon based blend with dark ripe fruit aromas and woody spicy notes every year. The wine displays a lot of depth on the palate and has a very long finish. We work with our hands, heads and palates to create something incredibly exciting. An absolute cult object.
